The Disciple's Code:

Quotes by Guru Basantji

Carry these timeless truths with you as you seek the Divine.

When a Guru presents a quote as teaching, it is a command for inner transformation, not an ornament for intellectual pleasure.

If the student refuses to take responsibility and instead treats it lightly, life will not spare them. The same lesson will return wearing different faces, until it is learned in humility.

The chaos they complain about is nothing but neglected wisdom knocking harder.

It is Shrī Dēvī Lalithā's presence that has empowered you in every possible way. Your very life flows and functions because of Her. Neither ignore Her nor the one who got you to this ultimate realisation.

Let this be a timeless reminder wrapped in admiration, reverence and total surrender.

A student once told me, “I don’t want to change my Guru, I want my Guru to change me.”

I replied,
“Then, if you refuse to change when your Guru is working on you, then you simply do not deserve to have a Guru at all.”

Think about the seriousness and the responsibility you must take for yourself, when you come to the Guru. You come to Him for your own transformation and nothing else whatsoever!

True Devotion is realising that your life is that of a destitute without Her and Her Grace. Whatever you need to have in life, is it possible at all without Her and Her Grace?

Think about it.

Your apologies to Devi show how humble you are becoming just to become one with Her.

Once you have surrendered to your Guru - blindly or logically - He is your path for the rest of your Life.

No changes whatsoever creep in between. Such is the power and beauty of that Divine Surrender. And finally, the purity of this surrender between you and your Guru makes it sooo damn easier for the ultimate Surrender between you and Her ❤️

When your Guru gives feedback or guidance, it can sometimes touch on unhealed parts of your being. These reactions can manifest in various ways, but it's crucial not to let them turn into negative expressions directed at your Guru.

Taking offense in these situations indicates that you've crossed a boundary. It's your ego reacting, causing you to lash out at your Guru.

You must remain extremely aware and conscious of your emotions.

If you can't manage this, how can you hope to become strong enough to be aware and conscious of the infinite mother?

Reflect on this.

The worthiness of a disciple is proven by their willingness to change under the touch of the Guru.

Burn away your unworthiness and get carved into a vessel fit to hold the treasures you have stolen from Him without deserving.

You owe your soul, your breath, your very existence to the Guru’s boundless grace.

When the Guru approaches you for help, it may appear to the unwise as if He is in need. Yet, for those who are humble and discerning, it is the Divine Mother's supreme play, an unseen blessing. She grants you the sacred chance to serve the very One who has gifted you the immeasurable without ever questioning your worth.

In truth, the Guru's request is not for Himself, but for your soul's ascension. To serve the Guru is to be made worthy of the infinite grace already bestowed upon you, without merit, without condition. Such opportunities are rare jewels crafted by the Divine Mother Herself to repay, even if faintly, to the eternal debt you owe.

No act, no offering, no life could ever equal the sacred wealth the Guru has poured into you.

Recognize this hidden blessing, and serve with all your being, for you are not aiding the Guru; you are being lifted into the embrace of Her Supreme Greatness.

When you understand how to conduct yourself in every relationship, why is it that you struggle to maintain the same respect with the Guru?

Why do you disregard ethical boundaries and misuse this relationship?

Would you dare behave similarly in your other relationships?

The key difference is that while other relationships are driven by ego, the relationship with your Guru is profoundly divine and elevated. It blossoms into something beautiful only when you actively keep your ego in check.

Otherwise, it can become quite unpleasant, mirroring the negative aspects of your ego.

Nothing more and nothing else to it.

Think about it.

Being devoted to your Guru is the only way to get rid of doubts and uncertainties in Life, until the final merger that is aimed to occur between the Jeevātma and ParaDēvatha Lalithāmbika 🪷, which is the only Goal of Human Life.
